Pastor Damion M. Briggs

The guiding doctrine of Pastor Damion M. Briggs’ ministry is: "Live a life that is holy and acceptable unto God."

Pastor Briggs received and accepted his divine calling in 1990 and was officially licensed to preach the Gospel. In 1998, he was ordained at Second New Saint Paul Baptist Church (SNSP) under the leadership of the late Reverend Dr. Edgar L. Williams, Sr. During his tenure at SNSP, he served in various roles, including:

Leadership at Eastern Community Church

In November 2001, Pastor Briggs was selected as the Pastor of Eastern Community Church (ECC) in Brentwood, Maryland, where he began leading a congregation of just eight members. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and his commitment to biblical teaching, the church experienced extraordinary growth. Within two years, ECC transitioned from a small 1,658-square-foot building to its current location in Landover, Maryland. Today, the church holds two worship services at 7:30 A.M. and 10:00 A.M. and continues to expand, leading more disciples to Christ.

To meet the needs of the growing congregation and extend outreach to the community, Pastor Briggs has established several ministries dedicated to spiritual growth and service.

Expanding the Ministry Beyond the Church Walls

Beyond his pastoral duties, Pastor Briggs has extended his leadership to broader platforms. He currently serves as President of the National Capital Baptist Convention (NCBC) and has held various roles, including:

  • Former member of the Evangelism Advisory Board for the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc.
  • Executive Producer of NCBC’s first CD recording, "Reaching the World for Jesus."
A dynamic speaker and teacher, Pastor Briggs has traveled globally, spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ. He also embraces technology and social media to extend the reach of his ministry beyond the physical church walls.

He was the former President and CEO of Maryland Health Partners, the first ASO/MCO Mental Health carve-out program in Maryland, serving over 800,000 members and managing an annual budget of $550 million. His leadership in healthcare extends to serving on various boards that promote mental health and wellness.

Currently, he remains the President of his own Healthcare Consulting Firm, where he assists businesses with best practices and process design.
